Convenient Access from Hell's Kitchen
Hell's Kitchen runs straight up the avenue to us. Tenth Avenue simply becomes Amsterdam Avenue on the way north, and about 4 minutes of driving in light traffic brings you to Columbus Park Dental on West 72nd Street, on Manhattan's Upper West Side. For anyone who wants a dentist near Hell's Kitchen without a long crosstown trip, our general dentists, cosmetic care and in-house oral surgeon are one avenue ride away.
From the Columbus Library at 742 10th Avenue, head north on Tenth Avenue, which becomes Amsterdam Avenue and runs past Lincoln Center. At West 72nd Street, turn right and continue east past Columbus Avenue to 40 W 72nd St Ste B. The whole drive is roughly 1.3 miles, and rush hour on the avenue adds time. Our block sits between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue; find us on Google Maps to save the address.
The subway is often simpler. Board the C uptown at 50 St on Eighth Avenue, or at 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, and ride without a transfer to 72 St at Central Park West, about 3 minutes on foot from our office. The E shares the 50 St station but runs on a different level and does not go up Central Park West.
Patients closer to the Theater District can take the 1 from 50 St on Broadway to 72 St on Broadway, about 6 minutes from our door, a route also used by our neighbors in Lincoln Square. East Side patients in Lenox Hill cross the park to reach the same block.
Why Hell's Kitchen Patients Head Uptown to West 72nd Street
Hell's Kitchen has kept much of its low-rise scale. West of Eighth Avenue and north of 43rd Street, the Special Clinton District generally limits new buildings to six stories, so walk-up apartments still line most blocks. The city began calling this part of Manhattan (New York County) Clinton in 1959, after DeWitt Clinton Park on Eleventh Avenue, and both names are still in everyday use.
The neighborhood has long been a working one. It grew as an Irish-American enclave, became a longtime home for working actors next to the Broadway theaters, and is known today for its small restaurants from every corner of the world. People here keep long, uneven hours, and an office that opens early twice a week makes routine care easier to fit in.
We open at 8 AM on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Monday appointments continue until 6 PM. A C train from Eighth Avenue puts that early slot within easy reach. On the other side of the neighborhood, Hudson River Park and the Intrepid Museum at Pier 86 mark the western edge along the river.
Everyday Dental Health in a Neighborhood Built on Restaurants and Rehearsals
Hell's Kitchen eats well, and its small restaurants are part of daily life. Coffee, red wine, spices and late meals all leave their mark on enamel and gums. Regular cleanings remove the stains and tartar that brushing misses, and they let the dentist spot early gum inflammation before it becomes bone loss.
Gum health deserves more attention than it usually gets. Bleeding when you floss, gums that look puffy, or a persistent bad taste can all point to early periodontal problems. Treatment can include a deeper cleaning and, when appropriate, Arestin, a locally applied antibiotic placed in gum pockets.
Many people here also care about how their smile reads in person and on camera. New and existing patients can add our $250 in-office whitening to an exam-and-cleaning visit while supplies last; it is regularly $800 and takes about 15 minutes. Cosmetic work beyond whitening starts with a conversation about goals, timing and budget.
Hell's Kitchen also borders Chelsea to the south and the Theater District to the east, and the same subway lines run north from both. Whatever brings you in, the plan is built around your real schedule.
Care We Provide as a Dentist Near Hell's Kitchen
Cleanings & Exams
A thorough cleaning and exam is the base of everything else we do. Early Tuesday and Friday appointments help Hell's Kitchen patients stay on schedule even during a busy run of shows or shifts.
Fluoride & Arestin
Fluoride strengthens enamel against acid and sugar, while Arestin targets bacteria in gum pockets. Together they help patients whose diets and hours put extra strain on teeth and gums.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Whitening, veneers and other cosmetic care can brighten or reshape a smile. Dr. Sidak Singh, our founder, focuses on cosmetic and restorative work and plans each case around how the smile looks and functions.
Oral Surgery
Extractions, bone grafting and implant placement are handled in-house by a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. That keeps surgical care on the same short subway ride as your cleanings.
Therapeutic Injectables
Injectables are part of our in-house range alongside general and cosmetic dentistry. Patients interested in appearance-focused treatment can also learn about facial rejuvenation at a consultation.

Insurance, Membership & Financing
Employer PPO plans are welcome here, since we accept all major PPOs and our team handles the claim paperwork. Uninsured patients can choose the CPD Dental Plan at $750 a year or CPD Plus at $950.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Columbus Park Dental from Hell's Kitchen, and how do I get there?
It is roughly 1.3 miles, about 4 minutes by car in light traffic. Drivers go north on Tenth Avenue, which becomes Amsterdam Avenue, then turn east on West 72nd Street. Riders looking for a dentist near Hell's Kitchen can also take the C from 50 St or 42 St-Port Authority straight to 72 St at Central Park West.
Why do my gums bleed when I floss?
Bleeding gums are most often a sign of gum inflammation caused by plaque along the gumline. It can improve with consistent brushing and flossing, but bleeding that lasts more than a week or two deserves an exam. Our dentists can check for early gum disease and recommend a deeper cleaning or Arestin if pockets have formed.
How often should I have my teeth professionally cleaned?
Most adults do well with a cleaning and exam twice a year. Patients with gum problems, heavy staining or a history of tartar buildup may benefit from three visits a year. That is why the CPD Plus membership includes three cleanings and three exams, while the standard CPD plan includes two of each.
Can I whiten my teeth if I already have crowns or veneers?
You can, but whitening only lightens natural enamel, not porcelain or ceramic. Crowns and veneers keep their original shade, so the dentist will check whether whitening would leave them looking mismatched. In some cases patients whiten first and then match new restorations to the brighter shade. A short exam helps decide the right order for your smile.
What causes teeth to stain, and can I prevent it?
Most surface stains come from coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces and tobacco. Rinsing with water after these, brushing twice a day and keeping up with professional cleanings all slow the buildup. Deeper discoloration inside the enamel does not polish away, and that is where in-office whitening or cosmetic options can help.
